Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data Betlief collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. Betlief is operated from the United States.

Anonymous predictions: When you submit a belief without an account, we store the belief text, the matched market(s), and your prediction side. This is associated with an anonymous browser identifier, not with you personally.

Account data: If you create an account, we collect your email address (for magic-link authentication via our identity provider, Supabase). We do not collect passwords because we use passwordless magic-link auth.

Account-stitched history: When you create an account, anonymous predictions made earlier in the same browser are linked to your account.

Usage data: We log basic technical data (browser type, IP address, request timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.

We do not collect: real names, phone numbers, addresses, payment information, government IDs, or any health, financial, or biometric data.

• To run the service: parse beliefs, match markets, display results, generate challenge links, compute track records.
• To prevent abuse: rate limiting, fraud detection, security investigations.
• To improve the product: aggregate usage analysis. We do not sell user-level data.
• To communicate with you: respond to support requests, send service notices.

Service providers (data processors): We use Supabase (database, authentication, hosting), Anthropic (AI parsing of belief text), and the operator's own infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Affiliate partners: When you click through to a third-party venue, that venue receives standard referral attribution data (a referral identifier, the link clicked, your browser/IP at the moment of click). We do not transmit your email or account data to venues.

Legal compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, the rights of users, or public safety.

We do not sell user data.

The text of beliefs you submit is sent to Anthropic's API for parsing. Per Anthropic's terms, this data is not used to train their models when accessed via API. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential business data, or anything you would not want a third party to process. Belief text may be retained in our database in connection with your prediction record.

We use browser local storage to maintain your anonymous session and to remember your authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Affiliate referral attribution may set cookies on the destination venue, governed by that venue's policy.

We retain prediction records, matched markets, and account data for as long as the account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@betlief.com. Some data may be retained for legal, security, or fraud prevention purposes after deletion.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@betlief.com. We will respond within 30 days. We extend these rights to all users regardless of jurisdiction as a matter of policy.

Betlief is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact hello@betlief.com and we will delete it.

Betlief is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), database row-level security, and access controls on internal systems. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date at the top.
